Brown Goshawk Accipitrinae - Birds of Prey

The genus Accipitrinae is often referred to as the "true" hawks.

These are primarily woodland birds that hunt by sudden dashes from a hidden perch.

They have long tails, broad wings and high visual acuity. Indeed, hawks are said to have a vision that is several times as sharp as that of humans.

They are popular in the sport of falconry - that involves taming and training a bird of prey to hunt.
