• Guadeloupe Parakeet - Aratinga labati (extinct) -Endemic to Guadeloupe, but populations were also reported in Martinique and Barbados. Originally they were called"Conurus labati" but later on were referred to " Guadeloupe Parakeet" Aratinga labati. Aratinga labati is not known from any specimens, but was well described by Labat in 1724 from Guadeloupe (to France). This species t must have declined to extinction in the second half of the 18th century. It was suggested that these parakeets on Guadeloupe may have been escaped Cuban Parakeet (A. euops) - however, this is unlikely as they lack the red patches on the wing that can be seen on the Cuban Parakeets. It is likely that they nested in tree holes in forest and foraged for fruit and seeds. Their extinction was most likely caused by hunting.

The exceedingly rare Yellow-eared conure (Ognorhynchus icterotis) was never common in aviculture and has not successfully bred in captivity. It is considered critically endangered and is listed in Appendix I of CITES. Its plumage is dark green above and greenish yellow below. The forehead, lores (the region between the eye and bill on the side of a bird's head) and cheeks are yellow.
