The minimum cage size for a cockatiel or lovebird who have opportunities for frequent exercise outside their cages is 18 inches x 18 inches x 18 inches.

BIGGER IS BETTER! Please provide the largest cage that your space can accommodate.

If you have the space, but money is tight -you might consider a used cage and refurbish it, if necessary. Do make sure to disinfect any second-hand cage very carefully before allowing your pet to use it, to prevent the spread of disease.

	Brand New Aviary Breeding Bird Cage 30x18x18-2474blk I owned several cages when I was still breeding. They were great for small breeding birds (enough room for a nest box, perches and toys) and work well for pet birds. They provide a lot of room for the buck. They are not very sturdy though -- but last several years. They are not suited for outside as they would rust in no time. They are also so light that wild animals could easily get to your birds. They are fine for indoors though.
