Tanager Information ... Tanager Species

The Golden-Browed Chlorophonia (Chlorophonia callophrys) belongs to the Tanager family.

The Golden-browed Chlorophonias generally nest between February and June. Their nests are very inconspicuous and tightly constructed concealing them well from predators.

These tanagers are often seen tucked between mosses and bromeliads or other epiphytes, as they feed on the fruits of mistletoe, berries of Ericaceae, Araceae, other epiphytes, and insects.
They tend to settle close to their food source.
