Mini EcoIncubators for The Hobby Breeder or Educator

Incubators for All Needs:

  • Hobbyist & Educators: Inexpensive and Functional - Please scroll down
  • Intermediate Level: One Step Up - Increased Reliability & Capacity
  • Professional Incubators: Features for Advanced Use & Maximum Hatchability

  • Not Sure? If you are not sure what incubator is right for you, please feel free to send us an e-mail, specifying your needs and expectations, and we will research, and present, options that would work for you.

  • Need Eggs? Click here for a listing of egg suppliers in the United States and United Kingdom ... Make sure your eggs are delivered when your incubator is set up and ready for use. Eggs only remain viable for a limited time (> 2 weeks) and under proper conditions. To ensure maximum hatch rates, incubation should commence immediately upon the receipt of the eggs)

Economy Options - Suitable for Hobbyists and Classroom Teaching:

The below incubators are sorted by price. NOTE: Most of the below incubators have been reviewed and rated by customers -- click on the products that interest you to view any customer / product ratings and comments!

The general rule is the cheaper the incubator, the lower the hatch rate.

Temperature: The temperature in cheap units is less controlled and often requires adjustments by the caretaker, which in some instances is as basic as lifting the lid allowing the heat to escape or turning up the heat should the temperature in the incubator go too low. If hatchability is important, I would recommend scrolling down and paying a few dollars more. However, if you don't mind losing chicks and just want your kids to experience the "miracle of life" - then the inexpensive incubators will serve this purpose just fine; as long as you understand that a greater number of eggs will simply not hatch and that you will have to attend to the unit much more to ensure that any will hatch at all.

Styrofoam incubators are impossible to disinfect - another factor when considering incubators and pieces break off easily. They have limited usability. If you are looking for multiple uses, preference should be given to those made of plastics, glass or metal. Check out this affordable, yet reliable, incubator.

  • For valuable and endangered eggs the intermediate or the professional incubators are recommended.

Technical Details

  • Thermal construction
  • Turbofan tends to increase hat rates
  • 110 volt / 60 Hz
  • 220 volt / 50 Hz available at slightly higher prices

This is the most economical, reliable incubator available.

The radiant heat tube gently warms the inside of the incubator, the air and eggs. Thermal action of the heated air flowing out the exhaust vents in the top of the incubator, draws fresh air in through the bottom vent. This thermal air flow also assists the drying of the chicks after they hatch. The TURBOFAN CIRCULATED AIR FLOW HOVA-BATOR incubator is designed to hold a more uniform temperature.
