The Maroon-breasted Philentoma (Philentoma velata) occurs naturally in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore and Thailand.

It lives in subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and swamps.

This species is threatened by habitat loss.
