The Melanesian Megapode or Melanesian Scrubfowl (Megapodius eremita) is found in Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands; where they inhabit subtropical or tropical moist lowland and montane forests.

They are stocky, medium-large chicken-like birds with small heads and large feet.
