Palm-thrushes
The palm-thrushes are medium-sized insectivorous birds in the genus Cichladusa. They were formerly in the thrush family Turdidae, but are more often now treated as part of the Old World flycatcher Muscicapidae.
These are tropical African species which nest in palm trees or buildings.
Species:
- Collared Palm-Thrush, Cichladusa arquata : Found in Botswana, Burundi, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. Its natural habitats are dry savanna and subtropical or tropical moist shrubland.
- Rufous-tailed Palm-Thrush, Cichladusa ruficauda : Found in Angola, Central African Republic, Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, and Namibia. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forests and subtropical or tropical moist shrubland.
- Spotted Morning-Thrush, Cichladusa guttata : Found in Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forests, dry savanna, and subtropical or tropical moist shrubland.
