Papilloma is caused by a virus infection similar to warts.

Transmission:

Transmission occurs through direct contact.

Diagnosis:

They are benign tumors that look like tiny wart-like growth. In birds, they typically appear in the throat or vent areas. They can grow large enough to block the vent, making it difficult or even impossible for the bird to defecate.

Treatments:

Parrots diagnosed of Papilloma can be cured after successful laser surgery.

Many veterinarians are recommending a diet high in Jalapino peppers to help control known papilloma birds. Some breeders feed Jalapino Peppers as a precaution.
