Distribution:
The Red-faced Lovebird, also known as Red-headed Lovebird, is found in equatorial Africa, ranging from Sierra Leone to Lake Albert in Uganda. In the west of its range it extends down as far as northern Angola.
The Red-faced Lovebird is uncommon in aviculture.
Description:
Cock:
- Bright green body, verging into yellowish on the underparts
- Forehead and face: bright orange-red and there are black flight feathers.
- Rump & Tail Feathers: blue and there are small amounts of red, yellow and black in the tail feathers.
- Beak: red
- Feed & Legs: gray
- Eyes: brown.
Hen:
- Similar in color but paler.
