Most food items that are safe and HEALTHY for us is also good for birds - with some exceptions:

Do not feed :

  • avoid avocado, guacamole, chocolate, cocoa, alcohol, caffeine, the pits of apricots, peaches, plums, prunes, and the seeds of cherimoya fruit

  • avoid foods containing high amounts of salt, sugar, and grease, as well as preservatives, artificial coloring, and other additives

  • avoid drinks that contain caffeine, such as coffee and sodas, and teas that contains theobromine

  • avoid under-cooked or raw meat

  • avoid moldy foods

Make sure that any food to be fed to your birds is of the same quality as food made for human babies.
