The Sage Sparrow, Amphispiza belli, is a medium-sized sparrow primarily found in the interior of the Western United States (between the Rocky Mountains and the coastal ranges such as the Cascades), ranging a bit down into Mexico, with a Pacific coastal subspecies known as Bell's Sparrow.
The binomial commemorates the American taxidermist John Graham Bell (1812-1899).
